Shopping for Appliances

This is my first blog ever and My plan is to cover a different issue atleast once a month. I have friends and family who constantly take the time to tell me Appliance shopping stories. " Horrendous" "Idiotic", " Truly nightmarish" are all adjectives I have heard in reference to the modern shopping experience. And I can understand, I have been selling appliances for over 25 years and it is a source of amazement for me how many very bad appliance salesmen there are these days. To begin with, from a salesmans standpoint it is very simple " customers need them, we have them, Game over" That is how simple the job is, we sell, we deliver, we install,we collect, top it all off with a happy customer and life is complete. But today you have several types of salesmen, I have worked with them all, see if you recognize them.

" The Techy"
You know this guy, He's the one that reads every thing ever printed about any given model number, and knows everthing about it including where the box it came in was manufactured. And on top of that he has no friends, so there fore he can devote all his attention to you. He not only answers your question but he will run down every possible scenario connected with that that question. The end result is his customers walk out of the store knowing less than when they came in.

" The Prince of Assumption "
This is the guy That met you five seconds ago and intimately knows you. He knows how much you want to spend, how much you can afford, what make and model you should have and he knows you need to have this on thursday. What he does'nt know is your name, where you live or your thoughts concerning your needs because he never once asked you a question. The end result, his customer leave the store without buying feeling that they wasted their time and sadly they are right.

" Monty Hall of let's make a deal"
This is the guy who greets you at the door, give's you next to nothing for imformation, he does'nt even know why you are there or what you want all he knows is if you buy today from him you are going to get an extroardinarily good deal, so good, that no one else in the store could give you such a deal and he can do that because he is well placed in the organization. The end result, his customers leave the store and have an overwelming need for a shower because they realize they have really scraped the bottom of the barrel and they feel dirty being in the same room with this guy.

" Me "
I have over 25 years experience with appliances, I ask alot of questions and I show the solutions.Because I handle nearly every make I need not stay loyal to any one manufacturer, I focus on what customers tell me they need.I am not looking to get a reputation as the cheapest in town and by the same token I am not looking to retire with one sale. I offer a fair price to the market. And finally
What I don't already know I am not to proud to look up, so ask away.I after all these years understand that a salesman is only as good as the company that stands behind him. I personally work for a great company in Warrington, Pennsylvania, They are a 37 year old company with two stores (I work in the new ,Bigger store)and they have an outstanding reputation for exemplory customer service. So if you live within 100 miles of Warrington, Pa .and would like to deal with Me and the company I represent you can email me at steve.applianceguy@gmail.com.
